Raising the Dead
The first thing that struck me was the absence of male influence in this commercial. No husband standing around his pregnant wife, no grandpa, no uncle, no pictures of men, no ring on grandma’s finger. Where is grandpa for little Charlie?
Next thing that caught my attention was at the end while the girl is creating the baseline data for the app, she’s not pregnant,,, that leaves me wondering if grandma is dead or alive during the advice for baby in womb kicking. AND,,, and if grandma is dead, where is this humming advice coming from? Hmmmmmmmmmm???
I can already see the PSA,,, woman nervously holding stomach while humming while frantically telling AI grandma “It’s not working,”.
Suddenly there’s a knock at the front door, it’s child welfare services,,, they got a call from AI grandma, AI grandma believes the unborn child may be in danger, and under article 54321BOOM of the Bye Bye Rights Bill, the state is taking her to a “SPECIAL” facility (donated by PFIZER) where “REAL SCIENTISTS” can better “HELP HER”.
Think that’s toooooo far out there? Really…
This AI grandma service PROVES,,, (at least to me), that the CIA no longer needs spies,,, They just need idiots like this consumer.
I mean, who is this child really talking to? Little Charlie is excited to talk about sports, but his excitement is quickly shot down, Instead, AI grandma wants to hear what little Charlie’s FEELING about a crush!-!-!
As the child grows up talking to AI grandma each day, sharing his secrets and fears, I wonder who has access to all of little Charlie’s “private” information?
I kind of think users of this app, would be something I would want to know about another person in my life. I mean, if we’re friends, and I tell you something confidential, and you share it with your dead AI relative, where does my secret end?
Inevitably everyone who uses this app becomes a snitch to themselves and whomever they associate with.
Soooooooo, am I gonna have to start asking people, hey you ever use this app? (Not to mention fighting like hell to keep a straight face while asking.)
AND If they say yes, then they’ll get the two in one New Jersey question,,, (clearing throat) Are you stupid or what?
As far as “Spontaneous Combustion”,,, every time I saw that on the front page of the Weekly World News, I had to buy a copy for the Staten Island ferry ride home.
Smoking shoes, what a laugh,,, there was always a picture of some reading chair with a charred body outline and the infamous “Smoking Shoes”!!!

I know Bret often points out Dawkins is wrong about religion is a 'virus', but some viruses are good or adaptive — an "external immune system" that wipes out closely related competitors from an ecosystem while sparing self and distantly related organisms. religion might be a memecomplex version of this. and if virus and host co-evolve enough, they become endogenous

If you’re like me and you question the Charlie Kirk “lone gunman” theory (which is the dumbest coverup of all time, IMO), then you have to ask: what would have to be true for this assassination to happen if it wasn’t a lone gunman?
Similarly, if Covid didn’t emerge from the wild, as we were told, then what does it mean that it was engineered? Personally, I think if someone’s actions lead to the deaths of tens of millions of people, they should at the very least get a negative performance review and a stern, “Don’t do that,” and not rewarded with a presidential pardon.
But the real point is this: these questions are too uncomfortable for most people to even think about.
