Why Color Revolutions are more than fighting with Crayons
When I think of a color revolution, I’m reminded of the movie Inception, where an agent tries to plant the seed of an idea so the host acts in a way that benefits someone else. The entire scheme only works if the host is unwitting, if they never realize the idea wasn’t originally theirs.
A major feature of a color revolution is the ability to influence or control media narratives. For example, when it comes to Ukraine or Syria, organizations connected to the U.S. State Department, often through USAID funded NGOs such as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as well as well-funded networks associated with figures like George Soros, are frequently described as helping set up or support media outlets that shape public opinion and bolster opposition movements.
