Today we discuss the cancellation of mRNA vaccine contracts by Secretary Kennedy. What are the risks, are they as limited as he suggests, and what can we look forward to from this technology in the future? Conversation includes Covid and the Covid shots, repurposed drugs, and the nature of science and knowledge. What does it mean for a claim to be credible—socially, or analytically? What does MAHA stand for, are their limits to hypernovelty, and how can we return to a more ancestral environment?

Regarding free speech and some recent events, including the firing of Jimmy Kimmel
I find myself disagreeing with Bret today, which is extremely rare. I hope he reads this, however as I think it is a fair argument to consider, especially when it comes to Jimmy Kimmel (which is addressed toward the end.)
As for the celebration of Charlie Kirk's murder falling under the purview of the right to free speech:
I think we can all agree that murder is probably the ultimate anti-social act, so the celebration or support of it belongs in the same category. You can say whatever you want, but if you reveal yourself to be lacking the general conscience and morals of the society in which you live, that society has the right to then reject you. That rejection may take the form of shaming you, ostracizing you, or removing you from your job, especially if it is a position of influence such as a teacher, newscaster, or public figure. It is not only the right of that society, but one can argue it is ...
