Lately, I’ve been trying to make sense of something that feels personal — watching people who were once foundational to my psychological development suddenly take positions that seem to contradict everything they used to stand for.
Take Jordan Peterson. He played a huge role in shaping my philosophical understanding of the universe and morality. But something about his recent trajectory feels… off. I’ve come up with two hypotheses for what might be going on — and they’re not mutually exclusive.
Hypothesis One: He Was “Epsteined”
A few years ago, Peterson’s benzodiazepine addiction made headlines. The story was strange — he vanished, resurfaced in Russia for treatment, and then returned with a noticeably different tone and energy. It reminded me of stories I’ve heard about celebrities being quietly taken down: a handler introduces dependency, waits for collapse, then orchestrates a public unraveling — often with strategic media leaks. The humiliation isn’t the end; it’s the leverage. In effect, blackmail disguised as rehab. After that, the person may come back… but they’re no longer in the driver’s seat.
Hypothesis Two: The Overtune Window Slide
This one’s less conspiratorial and more structural. In a zero-sum attention economy, independent media figures — especially those who rose during the anti-woke boom — eventually hit a ceiling. When the public’s focus shifts, so must they. I call this The Overtune Window Slide: a strategic recalibration to stay in the game by aligning with “the current thing.” Right now, that’s Gaza, antisemitism, and the ever-expanding battle over free speech.
Some adapt naturally. Others pivot out of desperation. Either way, it’s about survival — not necessarily belief.

Ever since 2021, life has been hell for me in a lot of ways.
Don't get me wrong — I stayed active, I'm healthy, did everything I could to live well by eating right and making good health decisions. But looking back, psychologically speaking, from 2021 until today has been the hardest period of my life.
