A Germ of Truth: The 263rd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

In this week’s episode, we discuss the relationship between infectious and chronic disease, and between germ theory and terrain theory of disease. Pathogens are real, and exogenous treatments like antibiotics can kill them. The health of the body is affected by diet, exercise, stress, and the microbiome, all of which can affect how susceptible a person is to getting sick from pathogens. We discuss gastric ulcers, Covid-19, pneumococcal disease, and comorbidities. Also: how do traditional vs modern diets affect the health, dental and otherwise, of people? Why do pre-industrial people not get cavities, or need orthodontia? Why do squirrels fed by humans develop similarly malformed skulls as babies fed modern diets? Finally: do we have a responsibility to point out the carnage that will result as the Trump administration goes after decades of entrenched interests?

Appopos oastrich...In Denmark, all mink were killed during covid with the same justification in relation to the risk of infection to humans.

The decision was implemented without having the legal basis in place. After covid, the industry was paid billions in compensation. None of the politicians and officials who gave the order to carry out the extermination have since been held liable, including the (then) current prime minister. In this case, a number of text messages also disappeared without a trace, among other things.

Among those who made the decision were several lawyers, but no one found it worth investigating whether it could even be justified legally. The mink industry was/is not popular in Denmark, for obvious reasons as only the fur is used, so the immediate negative reaction to such a comprehensive decision was quite limited and probably very convenient. Was it just a test balloon?

Now cows are suddenly also a risk factor for us humans? Which animal will be next?

Part of the ...

I know Bret often points out Dawkins is wrong about religion is a 'virus', but some viruses are good or adaptive — an "external immune system" that wipes out closely related competitors from an ecosystem while sparing self and distantly related organisms. religion might be a memecomplex version of this. and if virus and host co-evolve enough, they become endogenous

Why you should pay attention to the Charlie Kirk assassination

Stories that diagnose the system

If you’re like me and you question the Charlie Kirk “lone gunman” theory (which is the dumbest coverup of all time, IMO), then you have to ask: what would have to be true for this assassination to happen if it wasn’t a lone gunman?

Similarly, if Covid didn’t emerge from the wild, as we were told, then what does it mean that it was engineered? Personally, I think if someone’s actions lead to the deaths of tens of millions of people, they should at the very least get a negative performance review and a stern, “Don’t do that,” and not rewarded with a presidential pardon.

But the real point is this: these questions are too uncomfortable for most people to even think about. And I believe that’s why so many mentally shut down around these topics and attack those who challenge official narratives. It’s an adaptive mechanism. Simply noticing the implications puts you at risk, because it ...
