WEINSTEIN: I mean, even if you have your villains who are engaged in the behavior that motivated this war in Iran, even if that's the story, presumably most of the people in the path of these ferocious bombings that he is describing are not deserving of going back to the Stone Age.
In fact, I distinctly remember him telling us that part of what we were up to was liberating the people of Iran from their tyrannical regime.
So if it's the tyrannical regime that justifies the ferocious bombing, then it's a tragedy that other people are going to be sent back to the Stone Ages with them. Right?

A painful upgrade indeed
Something that Bret and Heather discuss is the idea of a painful upgrade. Well, I have my own special version of that where, instead of moving on and finding new friends, I end up going through a breakup period with my friends and eventually come back and repair the bridges.
It’s in my nature to handle things that way. For example, my mom was a lifetime smoker and was hooked on pain meds (she passed in early 2020), and I got really, really, really upset with her back in 2012-ish because I kept begging her to quit and it deeply disturbed me. So I went two years in frustration not talking to her because I was so upset, but I eventually came around, realizing that I can’t change her. After that, I would buy cigarettes for her if she needed help with that, but I wouldn’t touch the meds.

On this November’s ballot, WA has 3 measures: 645 (which would repeal the new income tax), 638 (which would keep girls’ sports single-sex), and 001 (which would return parental rights). We discuss—and support—all three. In every case, reading the arguments for and against, it is clear that one side must be lying—the “facts” are inconsistent.
Cheaters will keep winning until more of us start voting against them—even if they seem to be on “our” side. We also discuss why Washington doesn’t check voters for citizenship.
