In this week’s episode, we discuss ridiculous op-eds and letters to the editor in Nature this week, and the concept of fairness. First: gender equity for female scientists in war zones, and for women in mining. Are these laudable goals? Also: is division of labor between the sexes inherently objectionable? How does the concept of homeostasis relate to a body being given pharmaceutical interventions, a society being given equity interventions, or a government being given bureaucratic interventions? Then: level playing fields are the sine qua non of the West – they work in science, markets, politics, everything. Internet algorithms in their current state are, in comparison, anti-Western. Using the analogy of a card game, we discuss luck.

this is one of the most fascinating stories I've ever heard, and, oh my goodness!!! does he describe evil well. I think this aligns well with Bret and Heathers definition of evil.. it's a controlled thing... you have to watch
The Room is not the Room
And the President is not the President
This isn’t about liking or disliking Trump. It’s about paying attention to what he’s saying in this clip, standing on stage at the Israeli American Council, speaking to some of the most influential donors in American politics, at a time when Gaza is being leveled, Iran is being pulled deeper into war, and the Middle East is being subjugated by American foreign policy
On the surface, it looks like Trump doing his usual routine: telling stories, joking with the crowd, name-dropping donors. But underneath all of that, he ends up telling a story, and that story is about how the Adelson’s have unlimited access to his office.
in Reference to Shelden Adelson (the multibillionaire casino megadonor whose money helped fuel Trump’s campaign)
“He’d call — ‘can I come over?’
I’d say, ‘Sheldon, I’m the President… it doesn’t work that ...
Are we living through a Color Revolution?
How would you even know if you were?
When I think of a color revolution, I’m reminded of the movie Inception, where an agent tries to plant the seed of an idea so the host acts in a way that benefits someone else. The entire scheme only works if the host is unwitting, if they never realize the idea wasn’t originally theirs.
A major feature of a color revolution is the ability to influence or control media narratives. For example, when it comes to Ukraine or Syria, organizations connected to the U.S. State Department, often through USAID funded NGOs such as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as well as well-funded networks associated with figures like George Soros, are frequently described as helping set up or support media outlets that shape public opinion and bolster opposition movements. The book Creative Chaos is great on this subject; it describes in detail how Facebook and other platforms were able to bypass Syrian government ...
